When I pack an item for shipping, I want people to feel excited when they open it, and I always try to give a little more than they were expecting.
Every package needs four pieces of paper: the invoice from Etsy, coupons for discounts on future purchases, a bio card and a shipping label.
There's a new thing I've started doing, too. If the order amount is over $100 and the customer didn't use a coupon code, I give them 15% off anyhow - in the form of a Gift Certificate rounded up to the nearest $5. They can use it themselves or give it away.
The bio card tells my story. It lets people know where the cloth came from and why. Handwoven cloth is special, and mine is a manifestation of my vision for community. I want people to know the whole story when they receive the cloth.
