Homestead Update: zoom, Zoom, ZOOM!

Now that I know what has to happen to get out of the studio before Winter, it's full-speed ahead!

I went to town yesterday, and as I like to do on these town trips, I got everything possible done at once. This included laundering a batch of weaving, scouring the town for free palettes to build my storage area, and buying supplies for the winterization projects.

Here's the van loaded with palettes and plywood. Not visible here are the 20 storage containers in the passenger seat, another gallon of Bondo, the hatchet, maul, rubber boots, and lots of other little odds and ends.

Palettes are ready to install.

Plastic boxes are ready to pack with studio storage stuff.

And the last two nights have been Libra birthday dinners. Here's one of the chefs with the spread from last night: homemade samosas, salmon, fried potatoes, steamed broccoli, caramelized onions, crab cakes, and chocolate brownies topped with chocolate mousse. Today's my actual birthday, and it started before dawn with an 8 mile hike to burn off some of last night's calories.

And here's a little arrangement for the table, featuring dahlias from my garden. Life is pretty darned good.

I loved the way you spelled palettes....like they were something to paint on, instead of pallets which is what they are....and then I realized, that you are SO talented, that before you are done with them, they will be palettes after all.
Happy Birthday Blossom!!!

Yeah, I wondered whether I was spelling it right and decided to hit publish instead of looking it up. So, yeah, I'll have to weave a batch of cloth based on their colors. :)
