Setting Up My Loom For Production Weaving
Before I leave town and get away from fast internet access, I wanted to post this little YouTube video. It's a time lapse animation of three days dressing the loom for 60" cloth. Be sure to stick around 'til the very last second when you get to see the finished cloth whip through the loom and wrap around the cloth take-up beam at the back.

I absolutely love your time-lapse video clip. The music is great, too. I wish this could be universally seen so lay people would understand that yes, we thread every warp and place every weft.

Thank you for the clip! I have the same loom, and enjoyed watching it be warped as fast as lightning. I wish it worked that way in real life!
so, the techie in me wants to know how you set up your camera, video with slow speed or did you do some serious editing? Deb
totally makes my head spin, but I love it. How do you like those heddles? Seems like they would be difficult to work with, but I have only used the metals ones, so I am curious.

Deb, I use a digital SLR tethered to the computer. It is manually set for 1-15 seconds depending on the light for the scene. iStopMotion is the software that manages the capture and creation of the movies. It's not difficult at all. The music is actually added on the YouTube site itself.
Milly, I love the Texsolv heddles. They reduce the weight of the shafts and GREATLY reduce the noise. On my other loom, a LeClerc jack loom, they actually absorb the noise of the rest of the loom.
